At Land O’ Lakes Dental we are dedicated to providing a comfortable, welcoming, and friendly environment for patients of all ages. We have TVs and headphones in each examination room and a kids area in the waiting room with a TV and colouring books.
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our friendly dental staff. You will be asked to fill out any new patient forms and to provide proof of any dental insurance you plan to use. Our New Patient forms can be filled out online before you arrive if you provide us with an email address when booking your appointment.
During your initial visit to Land O’ Lakes Dental, we will discuss your past medical and oral health along with your ultimate smile goals. Treatment you can expect may include:
Complete Dental Examination
A thorough examination of your gums, teeth, and mouth will be performed to check for any signs of decay, infection, or disease.
Digital Dental X-Rays
At Land O’ Lakes Dental, we use digital imaging to provide safer, quicker, and more effective diagnostic imaging.
Professional Dental Cleaning
Our amazing hygienists will remove any buildup, debris, bacteria, plaque, and tartar that may have been missed with your regular brushing and flossing. Regular dental cleanings help you keep your teeth healthy for a lifetime.
Once everything has been completed, your dentist will discuss their findings with you, including treatment options and any concerns. We take the time to answer any questions you may have, ensuring you can make an informed and educated decision about your oral health.

The Canadian Dental Association recommends that children have their first dental visit by their first birthday or when their first tooth appears.
We love having children around the office! There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a child see that going to the dentist is nothing to be scared of. For children, we emphasize early dental care to promote healthy habits from a young age.
Our warm and friendly team ensures that each child receives personalized care tailored to their age and oral development, so we can put them on a path to a lifetime of healthy smiles. We strive to make each visit enjoyable and educational, fostering a positive attitude towards dental hygiene from a young age.
You can help them by talking positively about dental visits, reading books or watching videos about dental health, and encouraging healthy oral habits at home.
Not all dental problems have obvious symptoms at first, and catching them early will save a lot of money and hassle down the road. Not only can we identify problems before they become painful and expensive, but we can also help to keep your smile looking fantastic.
Our team recommends a checkup and cleaning 1-2 times per year to maintain optimal oral health.
It’s common to feel anxious about dental visits due to previous negative experiences, fear of pain, or uncertainty about what to expect. Many people share these same feelings! We do not take it personally when people say they hate the dentist! It’s our goal to help you have a more positive experience than you may have had before.
Our team is trained to help patients feel comfortable and at ease. We’ll take the time to explain each step of your treatment, answer your questions, and proceed at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
There are several strategies to help manage dental anxiety:
Communicate your fears: Let our team know about your anxiety. We can provide extra support and reassurance. If you need breaks during your appointment or have specific requests, please let us know so we can accommodate you.
Practice relaxation techniques: Techniques like deep breathing, visualization, or listening to music during your appointment can help calm your nerves.
Consider sedation options: Options such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or oral sedation can help you feel more relaxed during your procedure.

Dental x-rays are a crucial tool for diagnosing underlying issues that are not visible during a regular dental exam. The amount of radiation from dental x-rays is very low, especially with modern digital x-rays, which reduce exposure significantly. We ensure that all precautions are taken to minimize any risks associated with x-rays.
